How I Saved Almost $500 on a Wedding Expense (And How You Can Too!)
Sorry for the delay in posts. I started my new job this week and it’s been a little interesting learning the in’s and out’s of such a huge hospital. I’m loving it so far and can’t wait to get past the initial learning curve to really contribute!
Given my new schedule there hasn’t been much wedding planning this week, but I found help in the most unlikely (or likely, depending on how you view it) place – M! He is a big saver-guy. Restaurant.com and Groupon are things that he knows all about. But one thing that he knew about that I didn’t was a site called LivingSocial.com, a site where you sign up for immediate and local deals. You can purchase things or services for very discounted prices, the only catch seems to be that you have to have the funds ready ASAP because the deals only last a few days.
As luck would have it M opened his email yesterday to find a wonderful offer from Reliable Photobooths Inc., a local company that provides old-style photobooth strips for your guests. Typically it costs $895 for a 3-hour service at an event, but the new price is $445 ($440 if you “like” them on Facebook), $450 in savings!! Another great feature of LivingSocial.com is that if you get 3 other friends to purchase the deal (and this is ANY deal), you get yours for free. Knowing this, I immediately contacted my coordinator to pass this info along with this link so that if others purchased, they could get the same great deal and I might get mine for free! If you’re in the Philadelphia area and you want to take advantage of this great deal, there’s another day to buy – but please use this link so I can get credit for referring you!
Not in the market for a Philly photobooth? LivingSocial also has tons of other offerings in YOUR AREA! I found a spa certificate in Delaware (about 30-45 minutes away) also for half price. Just make sure to read the fine print so that you know how long your discount will be available for – but so far all of the conditions on each deal that I’ve checked out have been beyond reasonable. New offerings come out frequently, so feel free to sign up in your area. Who knows what awesome things you could get for half price? 🙂
Thanks for reading, and happy saving! –A
